Lamborghini doesn’t usually build a concept car without it getting put to some kind of use in the future. It’s never happened, and we’ll place bets on the fact that it won’t ever happen. Try as they may to deny the fact that the Estoque would not see the production line, this concept vehicle stood a fantastic chance at becoming the third model in Lamborghini’s line-up.
To prove our theory, we bring you this. In a recent statement Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed that the company is indeed preparing a third model, and that this new model is not an SUV as people have speculated, but a four-door luxury sedan.
"We have opportunities outside the super car business, and we showed that with Estoque. It had a more enthusiastic response than we had expected. It was the right time to see if the brand could go outside of super cars. Even now, people are still emailing me about us making the Estoque."
And if the strong demand for a production version of the Estoque doesn’t make them actually build it, the recent success the company has been having on the Chinese market may just give Lamborghini the final push they need, especially since luxury four-door sedans are in high demand over there.
Reventon was first introduced to the public at the Frankfurt Auto Show 2007 event. This super-expensive car sold at a price of U.S. $ 1.5 million and became the most expensive products such Italian car manufacturer. At the same event in 2009, Lamborghini introduced the latest variant, Reventon Roadster.
Lamborghini official release said that there would be only 20 Reventon produced for the public. Each car will be numbered from 1-20 as a marker placed inside the car cabin. Lamborghini Reventon will produce one extra for Lamborghini on display in the museum and will be given the number 0.
Same as previous Lamborghini tradition, each of the output of automotive products are always given the names of the bull fighter. Lamborghini refused imaging products with horses because these animals are too identical to its competitors in the sports car market, Ferrari, known as the image of the Prancing Horse (branching horse).
Reventon was taken from a legendary bull owned by a family of Spanish origin who was known for murdering a famous matador Felix Guzman, in 1943. In Spanish, Reventon means of explosion. Each product is created with the Lamborghini was always avant-grade design concept, a futuristic imagery. Reventon was dikreasikan depart from the same premise. The designer took inspiration from images of jet fighters with a narrower snout car like an arrow on the front.
